Viña Sastre Crianza 2016 Tinto

Viña Sastre, Ribera del Duero

There is some extra depth here given that grapes are sourced from 60-year-old vines. The nose displays aromas of ripe plums, spices and toasted notes from the oak with some minty nuances on the background. This is a broad, consistent Crianza with fine texture and ripe, supple tannins. A Ribera delivering the kind of quality you expect form this producer and a safe purchase.

This beautiful wine has a beautiful cherry colour, with high intensity garnet trim.

The nose is very powerful and complex, highlighting the maturity of the grape with aromas of black fruit, cocoa, toasted wood and spicy tones (cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper and some vanilla). In the mouth it is soft and sweet, very fruity, with sensations of black fruit, fine toasted and aromatic woods, with a very long and complex finish. It is definitely a wine that expresses well its origin to consume now and in many years.

This has a very rich and vibrant feel with ultra-ripe aromas that are set amid some meaty nuances, as well as a slightly tarry edge. The palate has a sleek, long and really saturated feel with essence-like, ripe-plum flavours. Drink or hold.
